House history, what is in your past?

The other day I saw a post by "This Old House" on Facebook about house history. I know ours was built in 1916 and has two huge wooden beams running the length of the house. It also has a few other cool things like  hardwood floors (that I'm guessing is gorgeous , a floor heater vent thingy (no, I'm not up to date on my terms!) a heating system that runs through the house with channels for the piping in the upper corners of each room and so on. We even have a concrete doorway! Well, that's probably not supposed to be that way but was still pretty cool and funny to find.

Anyway, the article got me to thinking about the history of our house some more. Now as it was advertised it said it would help you research your houses history, not really, it just gives a run down of styles used through out the 1800's to present. That in itself is a good start, you'll need to do more diligence in finding the exact history. The article is an interesting read and good inspiration for researching the history of your house.
